Version 10.1 released on June 11, 2018
**Visit foreflight.com/10-1 to watch the new feature videos.** Flight Planning Enhancements • File with ForeFlight and stay informed of flight delays with Expected Departure Clearance Time (EDCT) notifications from ATC via email and push. • Graphical Route Advisor now supports user-defined minimum and maximum route altitudes to generate a more tailored Recommended Route. Available for Performance plans. • Fuel planning refinements make it easier to switch between fuel policies and update target values for faster scenario planning. Available with Performance plans. Aeronautical Map Feature Toggles & Improved Airspace Labels • Show/hide Aeronautical Map elements with the new feature toggle sidebar on iPad to instantly declutter the map. • Toggle buttons only appear when the Aeronautical layer is enabled, and include filters for airports, airspace, airways, ARTCC boundaries and frequencies, terrain, and roads. • Dynamic airspace altitude labels are now always visible along airspace boundaries. Automated Terrain & Obstacle Hazard Alerts Enhance Safety • The new Hazard Alert system detects and warns of threatening obstacle and terrain using visual and audio alerts that display app-wide. • Detects proximity to airports and the approach path and automatically adjusts the scan to reduce nuisance alerts. • Automatically dismisses the visual alert once hazards are no longer a threat. • Turn on Hazard Alerts in More > Settings > Alerts. • Available for customers on Pro Plus or higher. New Shared Filed Flights Status for Flight Departments • Filed Flights, accessible on the web, provides detailed information about recently filed flight plans to anyone on the account. • A summary table shows at-a-glance filing status (filed, cancelled, or error), ATC acknowledgement or rejection status, and EDCT information. • Option to print filed flight details for company records. • Filed Flights is available for Business Performance customers. Other Improvements: • New Transition Altitude alert provides an audio and visual callout when you climb or descend through 18,000 feet in the U.S. or Canada. Also includes the nearest altimeter setting on descent. • Customers who fly with SiriusXM’s SXAR1 aviation weather receiver can now overlay a detailed Freezing Level layer on the map. Colored gradients depict the lowest altitude at which freezing and icing may occur across the continental U.S., southern Canada, and northern Mexico. • Tapping on expected route notifications now loads the modified route into the Flights view and automatically refreshes the Navlog and Briefing. • Non-standard waypoint types like address/place searches, VOR-DME points, and location pins in User Map Layers now support “Add To Route” in addition to “Direct To” functionality, allowing you to incorporate them into your route just as you would a traditional waypoint or VOR. • Airport markers in Synthetic Vision are larger for better visibility and you can also single-tap on them to access the information popover just like on the Aeronautical Map layer. ForeFlight Now Available in Europe • New Europe geo-region is now an option that can be added to your ForeFlight subscription. • Beginning with a focus in the German market, ForeFlight is a single EUROCONTROL-integrated solution for flight planning, briefing, filing, and flying in Europe. • ForeFlight’s fast, data-driven Aeronautical Maps use Jeppesen’s global VFR and IFR navigation data to depict all of the waypoints, airways, arrival and departure procedures, circuits, holds, no overfly areas, and more to support VFR and IFR flying in Europe. • The Europe geo-region also includes AIP procedures, charts, and documents provided via EUROCONTROL. • Optional add-ons at launch include Jeppesen VFR Procedures, Jeppesen IFR Airway Manual coverages, and the German DFS VFR AIP and Charts. More countries and coverages to come. • Learn more about support for Europe at foreflight.com/europe.
