Version 5.33 released on November 21, 2017
Updated for iPhone X! Due to the unique design changes of iPhone X, we had to rethink our view picker & toolbar. We're pretty excited about the result - on iPhone X, the view picker, toolbar & Informant Home screen now live on a new "drawer" that can be slid up and down. In the most collapsed state, you get 1 touch access between all the major views...you can also move the drawer up a level to get 1 touch access to all calendar views as well! While we were at it, we made some additional improvements that will be beneficial to you no matter what kind of device you have! - The trigger editor now supports multi-line notes for a trigger - Resolved an issue where Informant would intermittently open to 2015 instead of the current date - Improvements to subscribing to a calendar - Fixed a crash when importing certain ICS files - Include the event URL field when exporting / importing ICS files - Improved time zone handling when importing and exporting ICS files - Resolved issue where the dates in month view might be hard to read if you customized colors - Event/Task notes should be easier to read in the "summary popover" when in dark mode - Weather information should be easier to read in dark mode - Updated localizations and specifically fixed an issue with Portuguese that was introduced in the last update - Internal performance improvements - Internal updates to improve iOS 11 compatibility
Version 5.31 released on October 03, 2017
Thanks for all the feedback - we love hearing from everyone! This update largely addresses a few things that came up with Informant 5.30 and iOS 11 as well as a handful of other improvements. We hope you enjoy it! • Fixed issue in iOS 11 where some views were sliding up underneath the header • Fixed regression in 5.30 where alarms wouldn't fire for certain types of calendar items • Informant once again uses a condensed font for the month view (5.30 regression) • Start Date Shortcut button has been added back to iPad • Fixed issue with storing certain locations in a Trigger • Improvements to month view during rotation • Fixed issue where the Calendar shortcut wouldn't always return to the last-used calendar • View Picker shortcut icons are now visible when the "Bold Text" accessibility setting is on • Month/Year no longer cut off in Month View on iPhone SE • Month View should no longer intermittently open to 2015 • Updated Localizations -- including Czech which was missed from 5.30 • Stability improvements
Version 5.30 released on September 18, 2017
We are ready for iOS 11! We've been working hard on Informant to take advantage of some of the new things Apple is doing in iOS 11. We hope you enjoy this update! NEW • Numerous visual and under the hood improvements for iOS 11. • NEW: Siri Support for Tasks! You can use phrases like "Make a task in Informant to take out the trash" (requires iOS 11) • Username / Password fields can take advantage of iOS 11's ability to store login info in the keychain • New look for the View Picker Short bar on iOS 11 - which also resolves an issue of it sometimes overlapping the '+' button on smaller screens IMPROVEMENTS • The "more actions" button is back on iPad so that you can swipe-to-change-start-date again • Sometimes Informant would not respect a deleted exception on the root event of a recurring series • Resolved some issues with Informant's TouchID / Passcode feature • Resolved issue in 5.20 that could cause duplicate alarms for Apple Calendar events • If you had a daily repeating all day Apple Calendar Event with a "repeat end date", the event would 1 day later than it should have • Making a trigger from an Apple Calendar Event now works properly • Conflict Catcher in the event editor was not working properly for Apple Calendar Events • If you created a trigger set to be "All Day", it would sometimes result in creating events that spanned 2 days when used • Tapping out of the Title field in the event editor might unexpectedly revert the All Day switch in certain situations • Fixed crash if there wasn't a Mail account set up • Fixed some of the logic with setting the time zone in the event editor • Updated localizations
Version 5.20 released on July 21, 2017
We are so excited to share our latest update with you! We've been spending a lot of time focusing on our new View Picker shortcuts, Triggers and our watchOS app. There's a little something for everyone in this release - here are just a few things we've been working on (check our blog for a more exhaustive list): NEW & IMPROVED • NEW! View Picker “Shortcut” Bar. In the “Enable Views” setting, you can now pick views that you would like shortcuts to. Those shortcuts will appear in a bar that comes out of the View Picker button. This gives you 1-tap access to your favorite views. On iPad, all view options show, but you can still choose which shortcuts to show when Informant is in “compact” mode on iPad (like when it’s presented in a slide-over view). • NEW! You can now create a trigger from an existing event or task • NEW! You can now set the "All Day" flag in Event Triggers • NEW! Informant for watchOS now supports Time Travel • Improved! We spent some time improving the color scheme for Dark Mode to improve readability • Improved! Tasks on iPad now have a full swipe action set and doesn't use the “force touch” menu • Improved! On iPad, we no longer hide the master view controller in landscape • Improved! When choosing to make a Trigger event-only or task-only, the opposing section is now hidden • Improved! When viewing an event or task in the "Summary Popover", we have added data detectors to make more things clickable (like tracking numbers, flight numbers, etc) • Improved! The subtask & tag sections are larger in the Trigger Editor • Added button in Advanced Settings to force-reset Apple Watch data TRIGGER Fixes & Improvements: • When in a event/task editor, only show triggers relevant to that type of calendar item • If you were creating a keyword in the trigger editor and didn't hit *Return* before saving the trigger, the new keyword would not have been saved • When using a keyword to invoke a trigger in your event/task editor, we now remove the keyword from the title field • In certain situations, triggers would incorrectly autofill the Trigger name into the title field of your calendar item if there was no title defined in the Trigger itself • Fixed issue where the location address couldn’t be cleared from a Trigger in the Trigger Editor • Tiggers wouldn't properly preserve task projects when syncing to another device Informant for watchOS Improvements: • Apple Watch Complication is more intelligent about which event to show and is more aggressively updated • Data initialization / transfer to the watch is more reliable • Removed some non-functional editing buttons that shouldn't have been visible within the watch app • The title wasn't being shown in the Overdue task list • The Small Complication on the Simple watch face is now available (simple calendar icon to launch the app) • Resolved a handful of stability issues OTHER Fixes & Improvements: • Fixed “Stable Connection Error” when trying to log into certain mail servers • Fixed issue with Google Task sync where clearing a due date or "uncompleting" a task wouldn’t properly sync that change back to Google • Contacts were not sorted properly if you had a mix of company and people contacts • Sometimes a saved filter had to be selected twice before it would actually get applied • The wrong saved filters were being offered if you were in a tasks or notes list • Using an emoji as your search string to search for Apple Calendar events should now work properly • Fixed issue where multi-day repeating events would show duplicate occurrences in certain situations • Fixed issue where you couldn't hit "Done" or "Cancel" when setting a due date on a project • Fixed regression in 5.1 where force-touch-add-note was failing for Apple Events. • Improved alarm handling • Minor improvements to the Today Widget • Various visual / UI improvements • Several stability and performance improvements across the board
