Version 8.3 released on December 15, 2016
Thank you for upgrading to the latest version of the WSJ app. In our 8.3 release, we have restored the ability to look up the definition of any word in WSJ articles (make sure your device has a dictionary installed via the iOS settings app), made updates to our push notification categories, and included a "skip ad" button on our video player to more quickly access our video content. We have also introduced our daily WSJ news quiz, available every weekday morning in our Top Stories section. You can submit your score every day to the Game Center leaderboard to compare your performance with other quiz-takers! Finally, we improved the performance of our saved articles section and fixed a few bugs that were causing the app to crash for certain readers trying to share WSJ articles. This version builds on our 8.0 release, which included major improvements to how the app brings you the latest news. On iPhone and in the iPad Latest News section, the app will automatically update with new stories without you having to tap for them. Be sure to have background updating turned on in your iOS settings to help ensure the latest news is ready for you when you open the app. On iPad, more Latest News sections are now available both in the page-top navigation and by swiping to the right. Thank you for your continued feedback.
