Our new Featured Apps tab now comes with the contents that are featured in Apple’s App and Games tab. You can check which apps were featured in any country this week and in the past. You can also search for an app to see when and in which country it was featured.

We’ve just added two new sections to the Featured Apps tab. You can now browse through the featured contents that were published on Apple’s Games and Apps tab. For each tab, you’ll find the list of apps and games that were featured in a very close reproduction of the iPhone view.

For each country, you can see under which section an app was featured, the position it appeared in, the visuals it was associated with, the other apps that were featured alongside it etc. It’s just as users see it on their iPhone!

App, Country and Date filters available

To make the data more manageable and insightful, we’ve added a series of filters to help dig into the information. For instance, you can filter by app to see if your competitors have been featured recently. Or you can have a look at your own app, this can help you understand your App Store Connect statistics. For example, if you’ve seen a peak in impressions that you couldn’t explain, it might be your app was featured in a country you’re not monitoring.

In the image above, we had a look at how the game Angry Birds AR was featured across different Geos. In most Western countries, it was featured in the sections “New Games we Love” and “What We’re Playing”, with a special mention in the US in the section “Top 5 Games This Week”. In major Eastern countries like Russia and India, it only appeared in the “New Games we Love” section. In South Korea, it was also featured in “New Games” with a different image than in the US.

Make sure your game icon stands out in the featured content. Check out Mobile Games Icon Trends.

The featured contents can also be filtered by country and date to see how the results change across markets and over time. For example, we compared the apps that we’re featured in France vs. Germany this week and found that the German store had much more content than the French store, with 5 additional sections of featured apps. We also found that both countries had totally different content. Top sections in Germany were about Mother’s Day and Streaming Highlights, whereas in France they were about Travelling light and Dating.

In just a glance, you can check which apps or games were most featured in a given market and over a date range of your choice. You can even check the top featured apps across several markets at once.

We had a look of this weeks top featured apps and games in major English speaking countries, major European countries, and major South American countries and found totally different results. The only app that was present in all three was the game Golf Blitz.
