Netflix, the first streaming success story, remains very popular with a total of 12.53 downloads in 2022 so far. Competition is fierce and streaming platforms are fighting for subscribers, but Netflix is a household staple known for its high-quality shows and movies.

Youtube TV also makes it in the top 10 most downloaded streaming apps. Youtube TV is a true cable alternative and allows you to stream more than 85 popular cable channels over the Internet.

OTT streaming apps represent the largest portion of downloads in the Entertainment category.

The share of events and tickets apps grew considerably this year (7.5%) compared to last year (4.1%), likely a consequence of the reopening of the country after the 2021 lockdowns. In 2022, we also see the rise of face-editing apps and theater and cinema apps. On the other hand, the share of drawing and painting apps has decreased in the Entertainment category.
