Challenge

During the pandemic in India, Park+ faced a significant challenge as the number of downloads for car parking-related apps decreased, causing their ranking to drop from position 13 to 31 in May 2021. This situation prompted the team to seek out an App Store Optimization tool that could help them make data-driven decisions to improve their app’s visibility.

Solution

After conducting research, the team at Park+ decided to partner with AppTweak to optimize their ASO strategy and increase their app’s visibility and downloads. They leveraged AppTweak’s suite of tools to conduct competitor research. Features such as the Timeline, Metadata Update History and more helped them better understand their competitor’s strategies. Thanks to AppTweak’s benchmark features they could easily identify industry trends and implement these to stay ahead of the competition.

Park+ also utilised the keyword research tools in AppTweak to identify and incorporate the right keywords into their app’s metadata. By including more general keywords into their title, including FASTag, RTO and Parivahan, Park+ was able to increase their apps visibility and reduce their dependence on branded searches. Today, ⅔ of organic downloads come from generic searches rather than branded keywords. This demonstrates the power of data-driven decision-making in achieving ASO success.

Additionally, Park+ conducted a thorough analysis of user sentiments in their reviews. It was discovered that the Car Wash feature was receiving particularly low ratings, with a rating as low as 1.2. Recognizing the dissatisfaction among users, the team at Park+ made an internal decision to focus on improving this specific service in order to enhance the overall app rating.

Saumil and his team attended several ASO Workshops organised by AppTweak to remain updated on the latest industry standards and won the ASO Team of the Year at the App Marketing Conference in Bengaluru.

Results

Park+ is now ranking at the top of the category of Auto and Vehicle on Google Play.
