AppTweak Expands in Asia: New Offices in India and Japan
Over the last couple of years, AppTweak grew from one headquarter office in Brussels to 4 offices on 3 continents. After opening an office in San Francisco in 2018, we are proud to announce today that two new locations have opened in Asia: Tokyo (Japan) and Bengaluru (India). On top of that, AppTweak’s entire platform has been made available in Japanese (and in French)! Discover all the details of this incredible localization journey below.
New Office in Tokyo for AppTweak’s Expansion in APAC
As part of our strategy to reinforce our footprint and increase growth in the APAC region, we are happy to announce that we launched earlier this year an office in Tokyo, Japan!
To mark the opening, we had organized our first ASO Breakfast in Tokyo where we could meet and connect with local customers and companies. We had great conversations about the importance of organic acquisition in today’s mobile landscape and were excited to show our unique features!

With iPhones dominating the Japanese market for years, iOS is the most popular operating system in Japan (as opposed to Android in India). A recent study commissioned by Apple estimated that the App Store ecosystem in Japan generated a total of $37 billion in sales in 2019, including $2 billion from in-app advertising only.
This makes Japan one of the largest markets for mobile revenue, which is expected to grow to up to $16 billion by 2021. Additionally, revenue in the mobile games segment is projected to reach US$6,850m by the end of 2020.
We expect that the opening of our Tokyo office will accelerate our growth and bolster AppTweak’s leadership as the best in-class ASO tool in Asia.

AppTweak ASO Tool Now Available in Japanese
AppTweak’s expansion strategy in the Asian market through Tokyo could not have been completed without this last important step: the localization of the entire platform in Japanese. And guess what? We made it happen – AppTweak is now fully available in Japanese!

Given that language barriers and translation tools can be frustrating, we wanted to leverage user adoption by using a native Japanese speaker instead of relying on automatic translations provided by Google or other translators.
Just like for ASO, direct translation is not enough. The Japanese language has a wide range of nuances. Japanese speakers use certain phrases and verbiage that are very specific, limiting the effectiveness of a simple translation.
“We have worked hard on the Japanese dictionarization and translation of our entire platform. We are very impatient to see the impact! We hope that this will enrich the experience of our clients from Japan and make their navigation easier and more intuitive.” says Olivier Verdin, “with an office in Japan and full-time employees, we now provide personalized support in their native language and in their timezone!”
Last but not the least (and given AppTweak’s Belgian origin – bonjour!), we have also made our platform available in French for French-speaking customers who would prefer to use AppTweak in their native language.
India’s Mobile App Market Grew by 200%
India is today the fastest-growing mobile app market in the world with a remarkable 200% growth in the last three years. In 2019, 19 billion apps were downloaded in India alone. After China, India is the second-largest market for app downloads with a total of 204 billion app downloads.
These exceptional trends have led companies from all verticals to rethink their acquisition funnels and marketing strategies from scratch. At AppTweak, this phenomenon caught our attention as we noticed a rapid and growing interest in our services in APAC regions.
After our trip to Tokyo in February 2020, we organized our first ASO breakfast in Bengaluru. On top of the wonderful local experience (and delicious food, including all possible types of naan bread), we were able to meet some of our clients and trending app companies willing to take their search performance to the next level using ASO.

Bengaluru – A Strategic Location to Penetrate India
Today, we are happy to officially announce that AppTweak has opened its first office in India! We have decided to start in Bengaluru, the center of India’s high-tech industry and capital of India’s southern Karnataka state. This means that we now have a total of 4 AppTweak locations with 3 new ones launched only in the last two years!
AppTweak India already counts two full-time employees. We are looking to grow the team in the next few months aiming to offer a tailored user experience to the Indian market and stronger support to our customers. Check all our job openings here.

For the past few years, AppTweak has experienced incredible growth. Today, we count 45 full-time employees in 4 offices, helping 1,400 mobile leaders worldwide and tracking over 2.5M keywords daily.
Despite the challenges, 2020 has been another positive year for AppTweak so far. We expect a growth of 80% for 2020 while remaining profitable. With the offices in Bengaluru and Tokyo opening, we have seen an increase in revenue of 160% YoY in India and 200% in Japan.
